I Concur

After a funny night yesterday, involving five San Pablo police cars, one San Pablo police SUV, 8 officers, one tow truck, and one angry neighbor, I woke up early this morning to catch up on the blogrolls. Doesn't relate, but hey, that's how it all went down. I could not agree more with this post, *beating-oprah*, so I had to blog about it.

I agree that there is some weird stigma attached to the "Oprah's book club" sticker. I have read many of the books that have later received the Book Club sticker, and I must say, they were all good books to begin with. The two that stick out in my mind are, The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver, and One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Both, in my opinion, are very good books that stand strong on their own, regardless of sticker. Also, I do not believe that the books on the list are bad books. It's not like there are any trashy Danielle Steel type novels or a list of fashion magazines on there. So my question is, without that sticker, would more or less people read it? If the sticker helps people to read more books, then more power to the damn sticker. If it does really matter to you, well, "H" couldn't have said it any better.
