Everything tastes better outdoors

After my trip to NYC, I played catch up last week. Everything is just about caught up except for my laundry...ack. I had to work on my Oratorio as well for Dr. S today, and also wanted to go to Salt Point with my friends to camp over night and hang out at the ocean. It's overdrive, and got most of everything done on Saturday. B and I then drove up to Salt Point and arrived at 7pm (still daylight!) at the campsite. It was gorgeous. We had to walk in to the campsite because the drive in ones were full, but it was well worth it. No one was around, it was quiet, and exactly what I needed. Our friends caught a abalone, so we ate that for dinner.... yumsers! They wrapped it over a piece of cheese, breaded it w/panko, and fried it. It was so freakin' good, and plus, everything taste ten times better outdoors!

Next day, we went to Fort Ross so that B and Dive-master could go diving for abalone. B caught a couple small ones at first, so he had to put them back. But alas, the last one was more than the minimum 7". Ab-ie is sitting in our fridge right now waiting to be eaten. I like it sashimi style w/hot sauce, or w/wasabi and soy sauce. Dive-master was a great teacher and a good sport even when B got sea sick.

I got to lay out in the sun (the weather was awesome), and hang with pal, C. No tanning of course, the wind was a little chilly. But the skies were clear, the sun was out, and the rocks were warm. We were enamoured by the seals for hours, and watched the guys dive.

Afterwards, we stopped by my parents house to eat kalbi and kimchee. A perfect end to a fast, exhausting, trip! Ma hooked us all up with jars of kimchee, kalbi, and other goodies to take home. Korean moms, love to feed.
