midnight overdrive

Last night, we went to bed at 11:00pm. I thought that I was tired, but my eyes were wide open. I felt like I had ten freakin' cups of coffee right before bed, and my mind was running a million miles a minute. This was surely a night where I could not stop thinking. Suddenly, at about midnight, I heard this awesome figure in my head. I played around with it to see where it could go, and then realized that it was something I could grab on to. I got out of bed as quietly as I could, and went downstairs to my piano. Too bad I wasn't in my own studio (a dream I will have some day!!), but I wrote down the motives and ideas down. I had the soft pedal down and tinkered around a little while trying to play as quietly as I could. Didn't go to bed until 2:00am, but damn well worth it!
